Petra Ptáčková Spring/Summer 2015

Petra Ptáčková attended the French school Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, where she learned manual “couture” techniques. The designer calls her esthetics as “magic realism”. Her latest collection “The land of the slow wheels” was inspired by her childhood and the book The Monkey King, a novel about China’s favorite superhero for at least five centuries. The idea of this lineup was based on protecting the world we live in. Petra Ptáčková developed the shape, which was reused in many ways. Some of the handcrafted pieces conveyed colorful prints in the form of flowers, ornaments and so on. The silhouettes were oversized and relaxed contrasted by origami elements, asymmetry and lightweight materials. Petra Ptáčková complemented the looks with subtle embroidery, original headgear and sport shoes. The creations reflected Petra’s passion and love for the details and traditions.
