Merve Bayındır, born in Istanbul, studied Psychology and Humanities at York University in Toronto Canada. She came back to Turkey in 2004. After being inspired by her mother’s interest in painting and art, Merve Bayındır decided to become a fashion designer. In 2010, she started to focus on hats and by 2011 her namesake millinery label was introduced to the fashion world. Her latest collection “Be Original or Buy Original” has taken inspiration from the Art Deco art movement. Merve Bayındır used an array of different materials such as leather, silk, sinimay, silk abaca and etc. to make the designs. The collection manifested originality and a fresh take on hats.
