Ivana Pilja graduated from the College of Design in Belgrade, Serbia. Since 2007, she worked as a designer for various fashion houses. Her designs are usually inspired by Japanese culture including origami. Ivana Pilja makes conceptual and fashion-forward garments with new dimensions and forms. Celebrities: Dita Von Teese, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, and most recently Lily Allen who wore her designs in a new music video “Sheezus”. The new collection for Fall/Winter 2014-15 channeled inspiration influenced by Leigh Bowery. Ivana Pilja applied the past in order to creating something completely new and unique. This capsule collection revisited the days of Leigh Bowery’s collaborations with Michael Clark. Each piece exhibited the work of art that can be described as “futuristic fashion nostalgia”. The creations were dramatic, theatrical and avant-garde.
