Serbian designer Ivana Damjanović studied at Faculty Of Applied Arts and graduated in 2008. Her latest collection “Beginning” was inspired by the event of Supernova in the universe. The death of a star means the explosion of a star that has reached the end of its life, which is the most spectacular sight to see in the universe. Ending its evolution, the star shines brighter than ever, and then collapses in a pile of star-dust and shuttering fragments. The energy during the explosion often triggers a new star formation. Nothing dies in the universe, it can only take different forms like a new life in its purest form. Ivana Damjanović contemplated about life and death through her creative process. If the energy never dies, then there should be no fear of dying. This collection emphasized on a new beginning in the objects like the energy being dispersed of a dying bag and recaptured in a new item that represented life. Ivana Damjanović wanted to create creations that are not limited by a given description. Her collection featured amazing conceptual bags. If these designs ever “die”, they will still look spectacular like a dying star.
